An impromptu trip to San Francisco led us to an amazing wine spot called Golden Sardine. A small interior bar is complemented by an upstairs sitting area as well as outdoor tables and benches. Two guys behind the bar, looking like they just got out of a heavy metal band, were slinging some fine selections of wines from around the world. Nothing pretentious , just good solid selections to meet an eclectic crowd of patrons. Also, heard they do weekly poetry readings here. If you are into that, this is your spot. Another plus is great views from the street as you can see. Check out the Sardine if you are in SF. We think you’ll enjoy it. We had the Blanc de Blanc ($20/glass) which called for another round.
