It’s beer-thirty somewhere – A couple quick pints in Northern California and Vancouver.

Brew, Scout, Repeat: Tasting the Northwest One Pint at a Time

As part of our quest to scout the best travel experiences in the Northwest USA and Vancouver BC (you’re welcome, future travelers), we naturally found ourselves wandering into a few breweries. For research, of course. Scientific purposes only.

Our adventure kicked off at none other than Russian River Brewing in Windsor, California—a temple of hops if there ever was one. This place is enormous, with more dining space than a medieval banquet hall and food that pairs perfectly with their legendary lineup. We paid homage to the classics with Pliny the Elder, then stepped into the rarified air of Pliny the Younger—a limited-release triple IPA that lives up to the hype and the hops. Let’s just say, if beer were royalty, this would be the crown jewels.

Fast-forward to Vancouver, BC, where after logging five miles on foot through the stunning Stanley Park, our weary legs led us to the Stanley Park Brewing Company—because nothing pairs with a scenic walk quite like a cold one. The Park Sesh Lager was light, crisp, and as refreshing as a dip in the Pacific. For those less hop-inclined, their wine list was surprisingly solid too. The real treat? The patio buzzed with accents from around the world, all united by a common language: beer.

We came, we walked, we sipped. And we’ve got the brewery recs to prove it. Cheers to travel, hops, and hydration (in that order).
